Bryn Awel Primary School

To Nurture, To Grow, To Succeed

Ready, Respectful, Responsible

Digital Dynamos

Digital competence is the set of skills, knowledge and attitudes that enable the confident, creative and critical use of technologies and systems.

It is essential for learners if they are to be informed, capable and have the potential to be successful in today’s society.

Digital competence should not be confused with information and communication technology (ICT).

Digital competence is one of three cross-curricular responsibilities, alongside literacy and numeracy; it focuses on developing digital skills which can be applied to a wide range of subjects and scenarios that are transferable to the world of work.

In Bryn Awel, we have Digital Leaders and Digital Monitors.

Digital Leaders and Digital Monitors are chosen by their peers to represent the whole school.

Digital Leaders are usually the oldest pupils and they are included in discussions and decisions around DCF across the curriculum. For example, how we can promote online safety in the school.

Digital Leaders will meet with Digital Monitors to discuss how they can promote DCF in their own classrooms.
