To Nurture, to Grow, to Succeed- RAISE

Curriculum for Wales 2022 allows schools to design and build an authentic and innovative curriculum for their learners. Our curriculum has been designed by Bryn Awel Primary School and by collaborating with Welsh Government, and other educational advisory bodies, such as The Education Achievement Service and working with our cluster schools. We have also collaborated with our Governing Body, learners, parents and community to design a curriculum that meets the needs of ALL of our students, with the 'Four Purposes ' at the heart of our design.

Collectively, Bryn Awel Primary School have designed a curriculum which enables all learners between the ages of 3 and 11 to realise the Four Purposes of being:

  • Ambitious, capable learners ready to learn throughout their lives.
  • Enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work.
  • Ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world.
  • Healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.

Learners chose and named their 'characters' and are reminded daily of the Four Purposes in their learning and behaviour. They are rewarded weekly; showcasing learning that exemplifies the Four Purposes.
